Philadelphia Travel And Adventure Show Points You In Right Direction
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- If you need inspiration for your next adventure, there's a destination for everyone at the second annual Philadelphia Travel and Adventure Show that finishes up Sunday at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Scores of exhibitors, dozens of experts and experiences allow attendees to walk around the world in one room in one day.
"You can really experience the culture, you can experience the taste, you can really experience everything about travel," says Jonathan Golicz, one of the managers of The Philadelphia Travel & Adventure Show.
He says the goal is to allow people to explore the world and query experts about where to go, what it's like, and the best way to get there. There's also cultural performances on a Global Beats Stage and food at the Taste of Travel Theater.
"We have local chefs who come in and cook cuisines from around the world," Golicz says, "and they do it right here on the floor."
There are also experts like CBS News Travel Editor Peter Greenberg. He has traveled to more than 100 countries and he's giving a presentation with real world tips that travelers can use before they pack their bags.
"The off-season is a myth, do go when people tell you not to go," Greenberg says. "And not only that, this is the one year that the U.S. dollar is so strong against all the other currencies. It's a bargain for us now."
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
