Philadelphia To See Economic Boost From NCAA Lacrosse Championships

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It's a big weekend in Philadelphia for lacrosse fans as the NCAA Championships are in town.
The Division I Final Four and the championship games in Divisions II and III will call the Linc home this weekend.
Larry Needle, executive director of the Philadelphia Sports Congress says that is good news for the city's economy.
"We're probably looking at as much as $25-million in economic impact over the weekend. Realistically about 60 percent of the folks who are going to be in the stands, both at the men's championship at Lincoln Financial Field and the women's championship out at Villanova, are from out of town," he explains.
And Needle says that adds up to about 10,000 hotel room nights that are going to be needed.
The men's Final Four is Saturday, the Division II and III Championship games are set for Sunday and the Division I final is Monday afternoon.
The women's Division I championship game is Sunday at Villanova Stadium.
