Philadelphia Police: Man Shot Multiple Times, Killed Inside Kensington Convenience Store
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 30-year-old man was shot and killed inside a convenience store in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood early Saturday morning, police say. The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. on the 3000 block of Kensington Avenue.
"That gun battle took those 3 individuals throughout the store as they were firing at each other," Inspector Pace told CBS3
Authorities said two of the men wielded semi-automatic guns against the third man. He was also armed. Police said the victim was shot multiple times in the hip and collapsed while running away from the scene.
He was transported to Temple University Hospital but pronounced dead at 2:28 a.m.
One resident, Michael Bynum, is shocked at the overnight gunfire.
"That's scary. That's scary," he said, adding, "I've been in there a couple times. I don't go in there now. I haven't been in there. Wanna know why? There are too many crackheads and dope fiends in there."
Investigators are going through surveillance footage, which they describe as "crystal clear." Eyewitness News has not received the video.
