Philadelphia Serial Rapist Sentenced To Decades In Prison
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A serial rapist from the Logan section of the city has been sentenced to 40 to 80 years in prison for three attacks in Philadelphia between 2002 and 2005.
Otis Wilkerson, 39, was arrested after a computer DNA match in 2006.
Prosecutor Robert Foster says Wilkerson targeted two strangers on the street, but the third victim was a friend who had asked for a ride.
In each case, though, Wilkerson's vicious M.O. was the same.
"Next thing you know there is a knife to their throat, or he drags them into a vacant house or bushes and then threatens them that if they don't comply he will hurt them," says Foster, "and then he has, unfortunately, his way with them."
Foster told the court he talked with one sobbing victim earlier in the day who said that even now, nine years after the attack, she is still in therapy, her relationships with men are still troubled, and thinks the attack ruined her life.
