Philadelphia Rec Centers Show Down In Online Video Battle
By Cherri Gregg
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Sixteen Philadelphia recreation centers are going head to head March Madness style.
They are singing and professing their love for their neighborhood recreation center in an online video showdown pitting North Philadelphia against South Philadelphia. And the grand prize is a creative wall graphic that will transform a room.
"It's a built in mural without having to deal with the paint part of it," says Keith Leaphart, president of Replica Creative.
They started a competition among rec centers where they submit 30 second videos talking about their love for the rec center.
The center that gets the most votes each weeks, moves to the next round.
The winning center gets input in the wall design, says Susan Slawson of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation. She says the $5,000 graphic will go a long way.
"It's an opportunity to beautify one of our rec centers," she explains.
The public can vote on the rec center videos until March 31st by going to: replicacreative.com/marchmadness.
