Philadelphia Police Shoot, Critically Wound Man
A man was in critical condition after he was shot by police in the Frankford section of Philadelphia, Saturday evening.
KYW's Jim Melwert reports three uniformed police officers from the 15th district observed the 29-year-old stick a gun into his waistband on the 4900 block of Griscom Street, according to officials.
When they approached him he ran into a vacant lot, and that's when the officers say he pulled his weapon.
When he refused to drop the gun, all three officers fired.
The suspect was stuck in the back. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
No officers were injured.
Police say they recovered a semi-automatic handgun at the scene.
