Philadelphia Police Seek Public's Help In Identifying Suspect In Queen Village Robberies
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philadelphia Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying the man they say is responsible for two robberies in the Queen Village section of South Philadelphia this month.
The first incident occurred on June 16, at about 6:15 a.m. Police say a woman was walking on the 400 block of Christian Street when an unknown male approached her from behind, grabbed her by her neck and assaulted her. The suspect then allegedly took her purse and fled the area.
The next day, at about 7:25 a.m., police say another woman was walking in the 600 block of Catharine Street when she noticed a man on a dark-colored bicycle with a white T-shirt covering his face, circling the block. The suspect then allegedly approached her from behind and grabbed her neck and forced her to the ground. Police say the suspect took her purse, which contained $300 in cash, various credit cards and identification. He fled east on Catharine Street.
The man is described as black, about 20 years old, with a medium build and complexion.
