Philadelphia Police Officer Assaulted During Traffic Stop
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia Police officer was taken to the hospital after being assaulted during a routine traffic stop, Monday night.
According to police, a 35th district officer conducted a car stop at 2nd and Linton Street when a black male, who was armed with a handgun, punched the officer and attempted to flee on foot.
The suspect was apprehended without incident in the 5900 Mascher Street.
The injured officer suffered lacerations to his mouth, face and hand. He is expected to be treated and released from Einstein Medical Center.
