Philadelphia Police Officer Arrested; Received Compensation For Fake Military Leave
PHILADELPHIA (CBS)—On April 8, 2013, Philadelphia Police Internal Affairs Division was informed of a possible Integrity violation regarding Police Officer Louis Fletcher of the 9th District.
Internal Affairs began an investigation into the allegations of misconduct based on information received at that time. It was determined that Fletcher intentionally provided false documents to the Philadelphia Police Department requesting compensation for military leave from of January 2012 through March 2013, totaling $3788.94.
It was discovered that Fletcher had retired from the military in September 2011 and therefore had no military business during the time in which he requested leave.
On October 8th, Fletcher was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, theft by deception, receiving stolen property, tampering with records and identification and unsworn falsification to authorities.
