Philadelphia Police Alert Community Following Mayfair Assaults
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police are hitting the streets, handing out fliers, warning the community about recent attacks on women.
Police are still trying to track down the suspect who may be responsible for a series of sexual assaults in the Mayfair area in recent weeks (see related story).
"We're informing everybody to lock their doors, keep their lights on, if they see anyone suspicious to notify 9-1-1, and to assist anybody who might need assistance because it could be your mother, your sister, your aunt," says Bryan Coyle with the Philadelphia Police Department.
The most recent assault came at Castor Gardens close to Mayfair, which is where two other attacks are being investigated. Surveillance video captured the Wellington Street attack on May 17th.
Police say the suspect is a white male in his 20's, who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt during all three assaults.
