Mann Center president Catherine Cahill says the first night features Tchaikovsky and more:

"This is one of Philadelphia's most highly anticipated summer traditions, complete with fireworks and of course the 1812 Overture."

The 27th, she says, is ladies' night:

"Aretha Franklin -- the Queen of Soul -- will be joined by Condoleezza Rice.  And it's our gala celebration."

The final night features a video extravaganza:

"Called 'Planet Earth Live,' the score is by George Fenton.  And he will not only be with us but will be leading the concert from the podium as well."
