Philadelphia Officials Take Part in 13th Anniversary Remembrance of 9/11

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The City of Philadelphia held a patriotic ceremony today in Old City today to remember the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks thirteen years ago.

A procession, led by the Philadelphia Police and Fire Pipes and Drums corps (top photo), started at the Firemen's Hall Museum and made its way to the nearby  Betsy Ross House.

"Our country suffered an incredible tragedy that shocked all of us to our core," said mayor Michael Nutter at the commemorative ceremonies.  "The day will of course forever stand out in our minds.  Loved ones and friends, and others we did not know, who lost their lives will remain forever in our hearts and in our souls."

There was the sounding of a memorial bell to remember the victims of 9/11.
