4 Philadelphia Officers Injured In Crash While Responding To Shooting
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Four Philadelphia police officers were injured in a crash involving two vehicles while responding to a shooting on Friday morning,
Police say the officers were responding when the two SUVs collided on D Street and Indiana Avenue around 10:15 a.m.
One SUV hit an electric pole before crashing into the side of a home.
One officer suffered a head injury and was taken to Temple Hospital in stable condition. The other three officers were treated at the scene.
None of the injuries are life-threatening.
Officers from the Accident Investigative District are still trying to piece together what caused the crash.
An eyewitness says it appeared one of the police SUVs was traveling in the wrong direction on Indiana Avenue when the crash happened.
"I ain't going to lie. It looked like fast and furious," said Randy Garcia.
Investigators say the initial shooting call stemmed from an argument between two drivers. The suspect is accused of pulling a gun and opening fire on the other driver.
SEPTA police arrested a 20-year-old suspect in the shooting near Kensington and East Allegheny Avenues.
Police are interviewing witnesses that were shot at, but no victim has been located yet.
