Philadelphia Officer, 7-Year-Old Injured In 3-Car Accident
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia police officer, 7-year-old boy and two other people were injured during a three car accident in the Hunting Park section of the city Saturday morning.
Just after 10 a.m. an officer from the 24th District was heading Westbound on Erie Avenue with lights and sirens on when a black SUV travelling Northbound on G Street blew through a red light striking the police car. The black SUV then hit another vehicle traveling Southbound on G Street.
According to police, the officer was taken to Temple University Hospital for pain complaints. The drivers of both vehicles were also taken to Temple.
A seven-year-old boy was ejected from one of the vehicles and suffered abrasions to the face. He was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for treatment.
Sources say everyone involved in the accident is listed in stable condition.
The identity of the police officer and other victims involved have not been released.
