Philadelphia Art Museum Gifted Five Outstanding French Impressionist Paintings

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- You now have five new reasons to visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art. A local family has left some exceptional French impressionist works to the art museum.
"They're knockouts," says Joe Rishel, a curator at the museum, "each and every one."
Two Pissarro landscapes, with their exquisite use of color, and Morisot's famous painting of a young girl are now on permanent display at the museum thanks to a local family with a deep passion for art.
"They just bought paintings," Rishel says, "and danced with their friends and had a whooping good time."
The Tyson family of Chestnut Hill collected art throughout the years. They left some of the pieces with their daughter, Helen Tyson Madiera. Madiera passed away last spring, at age 98, leaving five pieces for later generations of Philadelphians to enjoy.
"These things are now for keeps," says Rishel, "fully in view in Philadelphia."
Now, Manet's "Basket of Fruit" can be feasted upon by the eyes of all who come to see it.
