Philadelphia Marine Robbed Of $44,000 Disability Check, Suspect Sought
PHLADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Marine from Philadelphia has some pretty choice words for the guy who stole his $44,000 disability check.
"I served my country and if this is your way of making a living, by robbing people that served their country, then I don't think there is any place for you on the streets," the Marine said.
After training our fighting men and women, preparing them for war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the 27-year old Marine Sergeant developed neck spasms, knee problems and seizures.
He was shocked to learn the suspect somehow got a hold of his large disability check he had been waiting for.
Just days before Christmas, the man used a counterfeit driver's license to open a bank account in the Sergeant's name at the Bank of America on Street Road in Bensalem, and deposited the money.

Over the course of six days, the unidentified man withdrew $22,000 leaving the Sergeant, who's going to Temple University full-time, waiting for a check that would never come.
"I've been really messed me up these past couple of months," he said.
The suspect is described as a white male about 40-years-old and 220 pounds.
The Marine Sergeant has a pretty clear message he wants the thief to hear.
"I just can't wait till you are caught. I think you are a scumbag and I'm really looking forward to seeing you behind bars where you belong," he said.
The Sergeant says he's been running into some red tape to get a new check sent to him, but he's hopeful the matter will be resolved soon.
