Philadelphia Man Gets 107 years In Jail For Series Of Armed Robberies
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A 36-year-old Philadelphia man has been sentenced to 107 years in prison for a series of armed robberies that terrorized victims in Northeast Philadelphia in 2006 and 2007.
Federal prosecutor Thomas Zaleski says Harold Brunson was convicted of five armed robberies. He and an unidentified, uncharged co-conspirator targeted small businesses, including pizza shops and a pub.
"He did terrorize his victims. He put them face down on the ground. He at times would press the firearm against their heads or the back of their necks. He would threaten to kill them. He would go through all their pockets and take whatever belongings they had."
In one case, Zaleski says the robbers also forced victims into a walk-in freezer before fleeing.
