Philadelphia Man Charged In Theft Of Used Cooking Oil
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A Philadelphia man has been charged with stealing used cooking oil from area restaurants.
An indictment released Thursday alleges that 46-year-old Bernard Corbin sold the stolen oil on the black market. Prosecutors say it was eventually recycled and then shipped around the United States.
Corbin is charged with stealing, transporting and selling more than $380,000 of cooking oil between January and October of 2012. He faces up to 15 years in prison and a $500,000 fine if convicted.
Corbin is behind bars pending his arraignment. Court documents indicate he does not yet have an attorney.
