Philadelphia Makes Kipplinger Magazine's List Of Best Cities For College Grads
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Kipplinger Magazine has named Philadelphia one of the top cities in America for college graduates who are looking to jump-start their careers.
Philly is 10th on Kipplingers top 10 list of great cities for college grads. The magazine considered healthy economies fueling new job growth as its main criteria and noted that Philly has added more than 20,000 jobs in health and education over the last year while offering relatively low rent and cost of living.
Debra Diamond, President of Urban Philly says she's not surprised that the City of Brotherly Love has become so attractive.
"Philadelphia has been on the radar for young, highly educated workers for a long time," she said. "In fact, CEO's For Cities just issued a report and Philadelphia was third in the number of young, highly educated people moving to the city in those numbers. So we've known this is the trend but it's great to see it recognized."
New York is listed as the number one city for college grads, followed by Charlotte, North Carolina and Baltimore, Maryland.
