Library to Launch Computer Skills Outreach Program
The Free Library of Philadelphia has received a federal grant that will be used to bring the library to you.
KYW's Lynne Adkins reports the $400,000 will allow the library staff to take lap tops into the community and teach area residents how to use them.
Siobhan Reardon, library president says they'll also help people learn to navigate the web:
"It's improving that technical skill set as well as some very fundamental skills on how to write a resume if you're looking for a job, how to look for a job on the Internet, how to search the Internet, we're finding people have some very fundamental skill sets."
The library also plans to buy a van and fit it with computer stations as another way to take technology into local communities.
