Philadelphia Jury To Decide Penalty In Execution-Style Murder Case

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia jury, already witness to a cold-blooded execution murder of a 19-year-old man in 2008, today will begin considering whether convicted murderer Omar Cash will also die or be sentenced to life for this crime.
The jury convicted the defendant in just a half hour last week after considering the evidence, including surveillance video of the crime.
The video shows 32-year-old Omar Cash walk up to victim Maliek Brown, put a gun to the back of his head and fire. The victim was down on his hands and knees shining the tires on his car at a car wash when he was executed.
The jury is considering life in prison or death for this case, but the jury will soon learn Cash is already serving life for other horrific crimes.
Prosecutor Peter Lim says, "This homicide happened on April 21st, 2008, and while on the run in this case, the defendant carjacked a couple that had just been engaged to be married."
A Bucks county jury convicted Cash of raping the woman while he held the male victim at gunpoint, then executing the man, before taking the woman to a hotel where she was attacked again before she escaped.
