Philadelphia Is A Hot-Bed Of NBA Talent
By Spike Eskin
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – If you've got friends from Chicago, New York, or Los Angeles, you might want to give them a call to brag for a second. Philly is a better town for basketball than any of them.
According to a report from Deadspin, Philadelphia produces more NBA talent per capita than any big United States city, edging out Chicago and Detroit. New York and Washington DC round out the top five.
The study takes nearly 4,000 players in the history of both the NBA and ABA, in an attempt to find out where the most pro basketball talent comes from. New York has the most players in the NBA, which makes sense, considering it is far and away the biggest city in the country.
Philadelphia has several current players from the area, including Dion Waiters, Markieff and Marcus Morris, Kyle Lowry, Maalik Wayns, Lavoy Allen, Wayne Ellington, Gerald Henderson.
