Philadelphia International Airport Celebrates 10 Years Of Its International Terminal

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia International Airport marked the tenth anniversary of the opening of its international terminal Wednesday.
Terminal A West, which serves as the gateway for international flights into and out of Philadelphia, opened for business 10 years ago.
Airport officials celebrated the occasion with an event that featured Philadelphia soft pretzels and hoagies and reflections from officials on what the ten years has meant to air traffic.
Nearly 40 million passengers have passed through Terminal A West gates and airport CEO Mark Gale says that's big.
"We certainly believe it not only provides a greater global recognition for Philadelphia. At the same time it's providing a bigger uplift in economic development for our region," said Gale.
US Airways has been a big part of the terminal's success and Bob Ciminell is a Vice President and Hub Manager for the airline.
"We do well here. We continue to improve our performance here over the last five years and we want to continue to be here and get better," said Ciminell.
