Philadelphia Goes Green At Eco-Friendly Festival
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Green takes center stage Sunday throughout Philadelphia, and it's not just because of the Eagles begin
The color is also the focus of Philadelphia's largest environmental festival, taking place throughout the day in Society Hill's Headhouse Square.
It's Greenfest Philadelphia, the festival organizer Katie Edwards says is all about sustainability:
"It is a party for the planet where you can come shop for green goods, taste vegan and organic food."
Food like curry cauliflower tacos, pulled portobello sandwiches, plus...
"Edible bugs is one of the most popular features," Edwards says.
And what would a good festival be without tunes and booze?
"But our beer and music is sustainable," explains Edwards. "Local music because it doesn't have to travel as far to your ears, and our beer garden -- a portion of the proceeds go to local animal shelters."
There's also free yoga classes, eco-friendly crafts for kids and the hybrid ride and drive experience.
