Philadelphia Franchise Owner Finds Success In The Kitchen
Adam Anolik, is the owner and operator of Wireless Zone in Philadelphia. Stores are independently owned and operated, offering Verizon Wireless products and services exclusively.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for sales managers is projected to grow 8 percent from 2012 to 2022, and most have a bachelor's degree with some work experience in sales.
What is your educational background?
"My background is in culinary arts and I have a degree from Southern New Hampshire University."
What is your background in management?
"I have been in electronics retail management for 15 years. When I first graduated I went into restaurant management for two years before making the switch to retail. After managing a local shop for two years, I saved up enough money and bought my first Wireless Zone, which I still manage and operate today."
How has your education fueled your management success?
"I think the multi-tasking skills you learn from managing a kitchen for a restaurant absolutely translates well to the retail world. When working in a restaurant you learn very quickly how to make alternate decisions on the fly."
What advice would you give someone who is pursuing a career in business management?
"It's really important for managers to have great people skills. I would recommend investing both in your staff and community members, this will make you run your business even more effectively."
