Philadelphia Featured Heavily On New Railroad Related Tourist Sites Map

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Amtrak is planning a one day, special train trip from Philadelphia on November 2nd, visiting many railroading sites in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
But if you like trains, there's a new tool to help you find tourist sites.
The Rail USA guide is a map on one side, pinpointing hundreds of railroad-related sites in the Eastern U.S., then thumbnail descriptions of each on the back.
Publisher Eric Ribeck says the Philadelphia area gets a lot of attention, from the enormous steam engine inside the Franklin Institute to other attractions not far from town:
"There is a railroad museum in Newtown Square that's in an 1895 station and has a very unique collection of HO engines," he said.
The big map also features zoom-in insets in areas like ours, where there are so many sites you might miss some.
"Which is exactly the point in that a lot of these places are easy to miss and we try to capture them all on the map," Ribeck said.
The company also puts out a map of mid-Atlantic region lighthouses with similar format and illustrations.
