Philadelphia Detectives Search For Suspects In Three Murders
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia homicide detectives are investigating a set of shootings that left three people dead Saturday morning.
At about 1:12 a.m., police responded to a shooting inside Scotty's Bar at 1420 Ellsworth Street in south Philadelphia. Police say a 41-year-old male received a gunshot wound to his left thigh and was transported to Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition.
According to police, a second victim, 31-year-old Mikal Grant, was shot twice in the chest. Authorities say he was taken by a private ambulance to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead at about 4 a.m.
No arrests were made and investigators are not clear on a motive.
Police responded to another shooting at about 1:40 a.m. in Frankford. 20-year-old Sean Flanagan was shot once in the chest at a bar in the 4600 block of Hawthorne Street. He was later pronounced dead at the Aria Health hospital in Torresdale. Police have declared this killing justifiable.
The third shooting occurred in the 9800 block of Busleton Avenue. At about 3:15 a.m., police located a 32-year-old male shot in the stomach and in the chest. He was pronounced dead moments later.
