Philadelphia Councilwoman Miller's Office Raided By Ethics Watchdogs
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The City of Philadelphia's Board of Ethics today raided the office of city councilwoman Donna Miller (above), seizing computers and other supplies, but officials were mum on the reason.
Staffers from the Board of Ethics spent a few hours inside the third-floor City Hall office of Councilwoman Miller, carting away computers and boxes.
Board of Ethics executive director Shane Creamer (right) would not talk about the investigation. "At some point perhaps, yes, but not today," he told KYW Newsradio.
Miller was not at the office during the raid, but her attorney, Michael Bowman, spoke for her:
"Councilman Donna Reed Miller received a request for information from the Board of Ethics. Councilman Reed Miller is cooperative in responding to their requests."
Miller is not running for re-election. Earlier this week she endorsed one of the seven people running for her 8th District seat, and that endorsement was sent out by her Council office on Council stationary, a possible ethics code violation.
