Philadelphia Children's Alliance Launches Campaign To Reach Out To 20 Corporate Sponsors

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A non-profit organization helping sexually abused children in Philadelphia continues to look for corporate sponsors to raise funds so they can assist 100 percent of those who need their help.

The staff at Philadelphia Children's Alliance was able to assist about 900 children that reported sexual abuse. But they're not reaching everybody according to Executive Director Chris Kirchner. She says a campaign was created earlier this year to bring corporate supporters on board.

"We moved into a larger facility here at 15th and Chestnut in the attempt to have the capacity to accommodate all 1600 reports of sexual abuse each year. We've still not got the capacity to serve all of those kids and that is part of why we started this campaign."

The campaign is called "Corporate 20 Bridge to Healing" but so far seven companies have joined in the effort. Including Chartis Insurance where John Sherlock is president for the Mid-Atlantic region.

"We see it as a duty not as an obligation to make certain that we give back to the community. So it's been a fantastic organization for us."
