Philadelphia Boys Choir To Tour Europe

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Philadelphia Boys Choir has begun their summer tour after almost a year of planning. They are singing in Lithuania before regaling audiences in other nations along the Baltic Sea.
The Philadelphia Boys Choir takes pride in having logged over two million miles touring countries large and, especially this year, small.
"They're actually some of the smallest countries in the world and most people from here don't really think about them, but they're really interesting!" says Director Jeff Smith.
Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Finland will hear 77 young men from the Delaware Valley harmonize this and next week, a trip Director Jeff Smith has been planning for years.
"Choral music is a big part of the history over there. I think that these countries, especially, may have a deeper understanding of some of the music we're singing," explains Smith.
His young vocalists are excited to experience a Europe most Americans have yet to explore.
"It's going to be amazing. I'm making sure I bring a HUGE memory card for my camera!" says one of the choir members.
