Philadelphia Attraction Turning Holiday Tradition Into Social Media Contest

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Taking your family holiday photo in front of one of Philadelphia's most popular public spaces could win you a prize using a popular photo sharing site.
Families who use Franklin Square as the backdrop for their Christmas photos can now share them on Instagram for a chance to win a prize package from the folks at Historic Philadelphia.
"This is the first year of the Instagram contest because we saw so many people taking and posting photos last year, so we thought, 'lets have some fun with it for the holidays'," explains Amy Needle -- President and CEO of Historic Philadelphia. "Anyone can Instagram their photo to #ElectricalSpectacle and we will be taking the top three vote getters and giving them a great prize package when the contest is over."
That prize package includes a family four pack to all the attractions at Franklin Square and tickets to the Betsy Ross House, the Liberty 360 show and the Tipplers Tour -- but you might want to leave the kids home for that last one.
"There's a lot going on here at the Square, in addition to the wonderful electrical spectacle holiday light show," says Needle. "We've created more of a festival experience."
The Instagram contest runs December 7th through 14th.
