Philadelphia Area Children's Charity Among 4 Finalists For Major Award

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The NASCAR Foundation has selected four finalists for a humanitarian award that carries a $100,000 prize. A Philadelphia-based charity is among those finalists and needs your help to win.
The NASCAR Foundation's Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award (BJFHAward), is presented to a dedicated NASCAR fan that has made a profound impact on the lives of children in his or her community.
Philadelphia-based Michael's Way helps families who have a child with cancer by paying their non-medical bills like for the rent, utilities or transportation costs.
Chris McElwee of Fort Washington started the non-profit in 1996 for his brother Michael who died at the age of 25 after losing his battle with leukemia.
"We started in honor of him and its been an amazing experience and I really think he would be proud of what we are doing," McElwee said.
The organization has raised more than $6 million for families over the years.
The finalist with the most online votes from the public wins the $100,000 prize. You can vote everyday if you wish until December 5th.
