Philadelphia 76ers: New Landscape Under New Ownership
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- With the sale of the 76ers complete, Joshua Harris, the leader of the new ownership group, today introduced himself and his management team to the media and 76ers fans.
"It is with great pride that I stand here at the Palestra, a place that brings back memories from my college days at Penn," Harris (second from left) said. "It was back during the 1982-83 NBA season that I first moved here as a college student. It was that same season, obviously, that the Sixers won the NBA Championship. That led to a lasting impression on me, and sort of led me here to this day."
Harris also introduced Adam Aron (third from left) as the Sixers' new CEO. Aron is a Philadelphia native and the former chairman and chief executive officer of Vail Resorts.
The new leadership group already is putting its stamp on the franchise. Aron today announced that they will be slashing prices for individual tickets for games -- some by about 50 percent. That will include lower level seats.

On the basketball front, both Harris and Aron praised the work of head coach Doug Collins (far right) and team president Rod Thorn (far left). But they did say that GM Ed Stefanski is leaving the organization to pursue other opportunities.
When this ownership group will get to watch their team in action is probably the biggest question. As the NBA lockout continues, already two weeks of the regular season have been canceled, and the league could lose even more games to labor strife in the near future.
