Philabundance Honors The Late Karin Phillips At Hunger Symposium
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The late Karin Phillips, our community affairs reporter here at KYW Newsradio, was honored on Thursday by the Philabundance organization during its hunger symposium at the Cira Centre in West Philadelphia. Karin was laid to rest earlier this week.
She was booked months ago to be a moderator for the Philabundance hunger symposium. But, it was not to be.
Karin left us too soon at the age of 53. And, her loss is being felt among many community organizations on whom Karin reported.
Philabundance executive director Bill Clark says the organization decided to recognize and honor Karin's contributions to the success of the organization during the symposium.
"Such a strong advocate, a friend of Philabundance. We all knew her, we enjoyed working with her. She was just an asset to the community and an asset to our mission."
Clark says those in the Philabundance organization are grateful to have known Karin and to have worked so closely with her over the years to raise the community's awareness about those in need.
