Phila. Police Release Video Of Woman Being Dragged During Car Theft

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police have posted video of a car theft in Mayfair earlier this month in which a woman was dragged across a parking lot.
They're hoping someone who sees the video on their YouTube page may recognize the suspect.
It happened around 9:30pm on March 3rd at the Express Fuel on Frankford Avenue. Lieutenant John Stanford says the 29 year-old victim parked her silver Honda Civic just outside the store.
"She left the engine running while she entered the little store there," Lt. Stanford said.
A short time later the video shows a man leaving the store and, after checking that the coast is clear, jumping into the car.
Seconds later, the woman comes out, realizes what's happening, grabs the door handle as the thief guns the engine, and doesn't let go.
"I think that's just a natural reaction when you see somebody pulling away in your vehicle to go grab at it. But the reality is you're probably not going to stop the person, you're probably just going to get hurt," said Lt. Stanford
Although the woman was dragged about 30 feet, she only suffered minor injuries.
