Peter Laviolette Favorite To Be First Coach Fired
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The NHL season hasn't even started yet, and Peter Laviolette is on the hot seat.
The Flyers coach is the most likely NHL head coach to be fired first, according to Bovada. The odds Laviolette gets fired first are 2/1, followed by Calgary's Bob Hartley at 5/2, Carolina's Kirk Muller at 5/1, Minnesota's Mike Yeo at 4/1, and Winnipeg's Claude Noel at 9/2.
This season will be Laviolette's fifth as coach of the Flyers, leading them to an Eastern Conference Championship in his first season in 2009-10. The Flyers missed the playoffs in the labor-conflict shortened 2012-13 season.
