Person Struck, Killed By Amtrak Train In New Jersey
HAMILTON Twp., N.J. (CBS) – Amtrak officials say a person was struck and killed by a train Sunday night near the Hamilton Station in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.
A Northeast Regional Rail train operating from Washington to Boston reportedly struck the person on the tracks around 5:45 p.m.
There were no injuries reported to any of the over 500 passengers and crew on board the train at the time of the incident.
Passengers were transported to another train to finish their trip. Amtrak says delays can be expected through the rest of the night.
An investigation is ongoing.
