Pep Rally In Center City In Anticipation Of Army-Navy Game

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Anticipation is building for Saturday's 113th Army-Game at the Lincoln Financial Field. Fans of the Cadets and Midshipmen gathered at Liberty Place in Center City on Friday afternoon for a pep rally.
The Army and Navy pep bands took turns ramping up the decibel meter in the Liberty Place rotunda. Fans of Army (2-9) and Navy (7-4) did some lighthearted trash talking, knowing that the other 364 days of the year, Army and Navy are on the same side.
Dave Anderson, a 1981 West Point grad, was visiting from Alabama.
"We have a common bond," Anderson says. "That bond is the service and defense of the country which is near and dear to our heart."
That's something Navy fan Roy Bowman of College Station, Texas can agreed with.
"I think that the rivalry reinforces the camaraderie, honestly," says Bowman. "I think they get out, they have as much fun as they can in the game and want to show how much better they are. But when it comes down to what's important, they've got each other's backs."
Kickoff for the Army-Navy game is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday.
