Pennsylvania's Largest Cathedral Announces 5th Annual Concert Season Lineup
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul launched its 5th annual concert season this week and this year's lineup includes both international and local acts.
Internationally acclaimed ensembles, including the UK-based choral group The Tallis Scholars and the all-male, San Francisco-based chorus Chanticleer, highlight this season's slate of performers, which also features groups from the University of Pennsylvania and Mansfield University.
Rector, Father Denis Gill, says the cathedral is proud to be part of Philadelphia's renowned arts scene, and that the building has outstanding acoustics.
"It was a building that was specifically designed to help sound reach every part of the room in the fullest possible way," he says.
Ticket costs range from $25 to $35 each.
"However, no one is turned away if they cannot afford the concert," Gill said.
