Pennsylvania's AG Weighs In On The Penn State Sex Abuse Scandal
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A former Penn State University coach and two other university employees have been charged in connection with a child sex abuse case that allegedly took place at the school.
Former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky has been released on 100-thousand dollars bail after being charged with the sexual abuse of middle and high school students involved with an at-risk program at the University.
"Mr. Sandusky's charged with sexually assaulting eight different young men during a period of time from 1995 to 2009, some of the sexual assaults occurred during a time where Sandusky was an active coach," says Nils Frederikson with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office.

The charges include, "…involuntary sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor, endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of a minor and indecent assault."
He says additionally, Penn State athletic director Tim Curley and Penn State vice president for finance and business Gary Schultz have been charged with failure to report suspected abuse and lying to a grand jury, which made the investigation difficult.
"There was an atmosphere of un-cooperation among some in the university that stymied the investigation. Obviously we have two top university officials who've been charged with perjury before a grand jury."
Frederickson says Curly and Schultz are expected to surrender in Harrisburg on Monday.
Penn State president Graham Spanier called the allegations against Sandusky "troubling" but said Curley and Schultz had his unconditional support and he predicted they will be exonerated.
