Pennsylvania Weather: Powerful Winter Storm Making For Treacherous Road Conditions In Bucks County

BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) -- Big snowfall totals and messy roads are making for dangerous conditions in Bucks County Monday night. Some of the biggest snow totals in our area so far are in Bucks County, where more than a foot of snow has come down.

Snow, sleet and freezing rain made for a messy Monday across Bucks County.

"The roads are pretty bad, worse than I expected," Emily Vonderschmalz said.

As the plows struggled to keep up with the precipitation, some drivers said even they found themselves sliding on the roads.

While many heeded the warnings to stay in, Warrington Pizza was one of only a handful of businesses to stay open.

"I know a lot of people are working during the snow, they're always looking for a place to eat," Benny Guerra said.

PennDOT says 121 plow trucks will be out across the county.

Bucks County's Emergency Management is reporting more than 772 calls since the snow started but still, many locals aren't complaining.

"It's been a long time that I can remember that we've had a good day full of snow," one person said.

With another on tap for Tuesday, school districts, including Central Bucks, are once again shifting to online as we all brace for another long winter night.

"I work from home so this doesn't bother me. I don't have to go anywhere so I'm good," said one resident.

CBS3's Alicia Roberts reports.
