Pennsylvania Man Dies In ATV Crash, Friend Gets DUI
KITTANNING, Pa. (AP) -- A Pennsylvania man has been killed in what police believe was an alcohol-related crash on an all-terrain vehicle, while his friend was charged with drunken driving on another ATV.
Online court records don't list an attorney for 47-year-old Sidney Ford, of Cadogan, who was charged Saturday after police investigated the crash that killed his friend, 39-year-old David Toy.
Toy, of West Franklin Township, wasn't wearing a helmet and died of head injuries after state police say he crashed while riding along with Ford about 5:40 p.m. Saturday.
State police say Toy rode ahead of Ford and crashed into a tree, where Ford found his friend moments later. Police say both men had been drinking.
Ford was being charged with drunken driving and illegally operating an ATV on a state road.
