Pennsylvania Lottery Prizes Worth $200K Each To Expire Soon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Officials with the Pennsylvania Lottery say time is running out for winners of two separate $200,000 prizes to claim their winnings.
The clock is ticking for the holders of two Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball tickets – one worth $200,000 from the May 26, 2010, drawing and another worth $200,000 from the May 29, 2010, drawing. The tickets and prizes will expire one year from their drawing dates.
"Even though only a small percentage – about 1 to 2 percent – of Lottery prizes goes unclaimed each year, we hate to see larger prizes like these expire," said Drew Svitko, Lottery interim executive director. "We encourage all of our Powerball players to look through your tickets one more time – it could mean a few extra bucks or a really nice summer vacation this year."
The soon-to-expire Powerball ticket from the May 26 drawing correctly matched all five white balls, 01-06-10-13-20, but not the red Powerball 32, for a second-tier prize of $200,000, less 25-percent federal withholding. It was sold at Kelly's News on 3178 Kensington Avenue in Philadelphia.

It was sold at the Sunoco gas station on 8955 Gap Newport Pike in Avondale, Chester County.
The Pennsylvania Lottery encourages the holders of the winning tickets to sign the backs of the tickets, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file claims within the next two weeks at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of Lottery's seven area offices.
Unclaimed, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians.
In other lottery news, tickets for the Pennsylvania Lottery's 12th Millionaire Raffle, which offers 6,000 cash prizes totaling more than $5 million, go on sale Friday, May 13.
"The drawing for the next Millionaire Raffle will be Saturday, July 9," said Drew Svitko, Lottery interim executive director. "Because tickets sold out early for our last Raffle, we encourage players to buy their tickets as soon as possible."
Each of the game's $20 tickets offers a 1-in-125,000 chance of winning $1 million, the best odds ever offered by the Lottery for a $1 million prize. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1-in-83.33.
Tickets will be available until 5 p.m. on July 9, or until sold out. Only 500,000 tickets will be sold, after which the game will close.
