Pennsylvania Democrats Still Question Corbett's Handling Of Sandusky Case

HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) - State House Republican leaders shut down yesterday's session as Democrats tried to force a vote on a resolution calling for a federal probe of the way the Jerry Sandusky case was handled.
State House Democrats are pushing a resolution that would ask the Justice Department to investigate why then Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett did not bring charges against Jerry Sandusky sooner.
"There may be a lot we don't know," Allegheny County Democrat Frank Dermody, the house minority leader said. "Let's put this to bed for once and for all."
When Democrats attempted a parliamentary maneuver to force debate on the resolution, the speaker, Republican Sam Smith, shut down the session. Smith's spokesman, Stephen Miskin, says calling for an investigation of a successful prosecution is "senseless."
"Obviously, they're putting partisan politics over substance."
Democrats say they'll continue their efforts to force a vote on the resolution even if Republican leaders respond by shutting down the House on the handful of days that remain in the current two-year session.
