Pennsylvania Ballet Presents 'Don Quixote'
By RJ McKay
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Pennsylvania Ballet presents "Don Quixote" March 3 through the 13th.
Artistic Director Angel Corella gives a preview.
"It's a ballet based on the book of "Don Quixote" by Cervantes, and it's a story of these two young lads that they're really in love with each other, but the father of Kitri, which is the lady, he wants her to marry the other man across the street and the whole story just happens in the small town of La Mancha, where all of a sudden Don Quixote appears and he's the one that actually helps them."
Corella explains why this ballet is special to him.
"People don't realize that this is a ballet for the younger generation and it's one of my favorite ballets, not only because it is one of the ballets that I have danced the most, but also because of my heritage and where I am from."
