Pennsylvania Ballet Building Itself a New Headquarters On North Broad Street
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Pennsylvania Ballet is building a home on North Broad Street, just north of Vine Street.
Demolition of a decrepit building at Broad and Wood Streets will begin in about a month, and Michael Scolamiero, executive director of the Ballet, says after the completion of construction and renovations the company will be able to move from its two current sites into one new space.
"September 2012, we'll have four studios, offices, locker rooms, physical therapy, things like that, and offices for the school," Scolamiero told KYW Newsradio.

By 2014 a fifth studio will be added, along with a lobby and a ballet school.
Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter says he is thrilled the Pennsylvania Ballet is moving to a location north of City Hall.
"I love South Broad Street -- a lotof activity going on there," he said, "but we certainly need that growth and development (on North Broad). And you're seeing it transformed right before your eyes."
The project will cost more than $17 million. The site is in a nondescript block just south of the landmark Philadelphia Inquirer building.
