PennDOT Crews Get Ready For Latest Round Of Winter Weather
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- PennDOT crews are getting ready for this latest snowfall.
PennDOT crews have more than 106,000 tons of salt on hand for this storm and they've only used 27,000 tons so far this winter.
Even though this storm isn't expect to dump a lot of snow, PennDOT's John Krafczyk says when the heavy bands come through, motorists could see some accumulation on the road.
"Slow down, leave plenty of space between you and the vehicle in front of you. Give our plow trucks ample room to operate. Stay back at least five car lengths we prefer."
Krafczyk adds that the average truck route is between 30 and 40 miles and takes about two hours to complete.
