Delaware County Middle School Closed After Elderly Man Killed Nearby
DARBY, Pa. (CBS) -- Police say an elderly man was shot and killed near a middle school in Darby on Tuesday.
Police say two people were involved in an altercation inside a vehicle at 4 a.m. Tuesday, when one of them reportedly exited the vehicle and shot and killed the elderly man in the 100 block of Summit Street.
The William Penn School District said the Penn Wood Middle School, which is in the area of the homicide, was closed for the day due to "continued police activity" in the area.
School officials had originally announced a two-hour delay for the school but later announced they would instead close for the day.
Penn Wood Middle School will now be closed all day.

School resumes for students at Penn Wood Middle School and Penn Wood High School-Green Avenue Campus on Wednesday, according to the schools' website.
Police are currently reviewing surveillance video.
