Penn State To Name Pat Chambers Hoops Coach
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Boston University public relations website reports that now former Terriers head coach Pat Chambers has accepted the head coaching gig at Penn State.
He will replace Ed DeChellis who left to take the top job at Navy.
Pat Chambers should be a familiar name to local basketball fans. A Radnor native, former player at Philadelphia University and assistant coach under Jay Wright at Villanova, Chambers went 42-28 in two seasons at Boston University. This past season he led BU to its first America East title and NCAA tournament in nine seasons. The Terriers lost in the second round to Kansas.
Milwaukee's Rob Jeter and Duquesne's Ron Everhart also had interviewed for the job.
