PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- "He's a once every 10-year guy. A lot of people ask me what it was like to train Vernon Davis, there you go."
That's Penn State strength and conditioning coach Dwight Galt on star sophomore running back Saquon Barkley.
During Penn State's winter condition workouts at the Lasch Building, Barkely posted ridiculous numbers:
- Power clean of 390 pounds (tied program record set by DT Anthony Zettel)
- Squatted 495 pounds seven times
- Benched-pressed 390 pounds
"[Barkley]'s special in a lot of different areas. He's a tremendous athlete. He's a great leader, a great worker."
As a freshman last season, Barkley rushed for 1,076 yards on 182 carries (5.9 yards per carry) and seven touchdowns. Barkley also added 20 catches for 161 yards and another score.
